Privacy policy
Je t'aime is an app for couples: days together, question of the day, photo of the week, memories, the distance between you and home-screen widgets. This page explains which data we process, why, for how long, and what your rights are.
1. Data controller

2. Data we process and why

No advertising, no data selling, no profiling.
3. Who sees your data
- Your partner: your profile, photo, birthday, your shared content, your distance, whether you are in the app.
- Someone who chose you: your first name, last name and photo, so they know who they are addressing.
- Our processors, only to run the service:
- Google Firebase (Google Ireland Ltd / Google LLC): SMS sign-in, app attestation and notification delivery. Data may be processed in the United States under standard contractual clauses and the Data Privacy Framework;
- Scaleway SAS (France): storage of photos and backups;
- Hostinger (HOSTINGER operations, UAB, Lithuania): hosting of the server, located in France, that runs the API and the database;
- Apple and Google: app distribution and subscription payments;
- Apple (iTunes catalogue): when you search for a song for the playlist, the text of your search is sent directly by your phone to Apple's music catalogue, without your account or your number. Cover images are loaded from that same catalogue.
4. Retention
- Account, profile, photo, couple content: as long as your account exists. A break-up closes the couple; if you choose each other again, the history comes back.
- Location: only the latest is kept; it is erased as soon as you withdraw the permission.
- Database backups: 30 days, then deleted automatically.
- Account deletion: immediate erasure from the live database; the data leaves the backups within 30 days.
5. Your rights
You can access, correct and erase your data, object to or restrict processing, ask for portability, and withdraw consent at any time. Most of this can be done in the app (profile, photo, location, notifications).
Delete your account: Settings → "Delete my account". This erases your account, your photo and your couple space (answers, photos of the week, memories, playlist, rituals), including for your partner. A subscription bought on the App Store or Google Play is cancelled in the store.

6. Security
Encrypted connections (HTTPS), data access limited to your account and your partner's, private photos, backups encrypted in transit, anti-abuse protection of the sign-in.
7. Minimum age
The app is for people aged 16 and over.
8. Changes
If something important changes, we will tell you in the app. The date at the top shows the latest version.
